In Neuves-Maisons, the mine museum Val de Fer is the memory of the miners and is situated in a clearing of 5 hectares that overlooks the Moselle river. A gallery museum of 1000 meters, an iron ore stock in a huge gallery – recently extracted – and an old building “Zublin” from the thirties where the iron ore was put into tip trucks before transport to the blast furnaces.
