"Champ'hivernal" is the season of winter activities in Champigneulles.
The 4th edition will take place from December 1 to 23, 2024, and will return to the main courtyard of the Château de Bas.
Champ'hivernal brings together various artistic performances given in front of the main entrance, which acts as a natural stage, starting each evening at 6.30pm and lasting around fifteen minutes. Several local associations, the municipal theater and music schools, as well as a number of outside artists, take part in the enchantment of the event.
In December 2021, for the 1st edition, the town of Champigneulles has imagined a giant version of the Advent calendar in the courtyard of the château. Like an Advent calendar, the château unveiled a surprise behind an open window, to be enjoyed with the eyes or ears: a musical sequence, storytelling, theatrical sketches, lights...
Since the December 2022 edition, the "fireside" theme has lit up every December evening! The hotel's forecourt becomes the stage for a host of events and surprises created by the town and its partners.
A Christmas village is set up in the town hall parking lot, with a chalet for the distribution of mulled wine, hot chocolate and warm beer (distributed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings).
Luminous Christmas trees, a Santa Claus letterbox and a participatory Christmas tree will be set up on the site.
Daytime decorations will be set up on rue de Nancy and in a perimeter of streets leading up to the town hall. The decorations will be placed in the village hall, the Charles Perrault school, at the central point and up rue de Verdun.
New for 2023 is the Christmas trail! A pathway laid out in temporary paint on the sidewalks between rue de Nancy and Hôtel de Ville. The public could discover different decorations to immerse themselves even more in the magic of the festive season.
In addition to the daily entertainment, each edition features a number of highlights for the public, including gospel singing, the appearance of Saint-Nicolas on the balcony of Hôtel de Ville, Saint-Nicolas meeting the children, magic shows, an ugly sweater contest, a fire show and the arrival of Santa Claus to close the event.
