CHÂTEAU DE FLÉVILLE
Just fifteen minutes' drive from Place Stanislas, the Château de Fléville juxtaposes a superb mediaeval keep 30 metres high with a beautiful Renaissance façade, and is often compared with the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau. This architectural gem is set in twenty hectares of landscaped parkland and its garden is officially classified as one of France's Jardins Remarquables ("Outstanding Gardens"). It includes an 18th-century orangery decorated with a marvellous 17th-century trompe-l’œil.
Each summer, the owners organise a new temporary exhibition.
A special welcome for families with children: dressing up as knights or princesses and using the special activity booklet will make their visit fun as well as educational.
Groups may visit at any time but must book at least two weeks in advance.
