holder of the secret and coveted recipe for the real Nancy macaroon: the macaron des Sœurs. This delicate pastry, a mixture of egg white, sugar and almonds from Provence - exclusively - is inherited from two sisters (Marie Morlot and Marguerite-Suzanne Gaillot) of the Benedictine community of the Blessed Sacrament. The Sisters' macaroon is characterized by a beautiful cracked shape, a crushed almond taste and a shelf life of up to four weeks. In 2012, Maison des Sœurs Macarons was also the first gastronomic company in Lorraine to be awarded the EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) state label, a recognition label issued by the French Ministry of the Economy to French companies with excellent craft skills. The Maison Des Sœurs Macarons is a refined confectionery offering the Sisters' unique macaron, the Bergamote de Nancy, which has held the IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) label for almost 30 years, and Mirabelle plum specialties, as well as handmade chocolates and fruit jellies. The Maison Des Sœurs Macarons offers on-site and online sales in France and abroad.
